In 2016, Jonathan and Susan Kring began the long process of starting Ol' Country Farm. It began by taking steps to purchase a part of Susan's family farm, where she makes the third generation to operate the farm. The same year we acquired the first members of our small herd of Angus brood cows. After years of the land being farmed conventionally, we initiated key steps to a more holistic and regenerative approach to farming.
Jonathan and Susan Kring started farming as a way to work together out in God's beautiful creation. At the beginning Jonathan's service in the US Air Force required time away from home, but returning home to his sweetheart on the farm made it all worth it! After service related injuries and early retirement, Jonathan now gets to help run the farm beside Susan, and their little helper Kaylee Jo!
Wholesome Food - its not just a catch phrase for us. We eat the same stuff were selling! My precious Kaylee Jo, loves to eat the steak right of my plate! That's why we take very seriously the quality of our food and what we put in it!!! It is very important to us that we farm in a way that produces a wholesome product while preserving our land for the next generation.
Simply - we make what we want to eat! Then we make a little extra!
Let us know if there is something your looking for, maybe we can add it to our list!
In October of 2018, Ol' Country Farm received the Homegrown By Heroes certification from the Farmer Veteran Coalition.
Ol' Country Farm is happy to announce that we are Georgia Grown!
